Bruce Austin
Director and Registered Psychologist
As a social and organisational psychologist, Bruce Austin has extensive experience consulting to private, public and community organisations and applying participative practices as a solution to conflict between stakeholders in a variety of settings. Since 1989, Bruce has run his own consulting business. Through management learning and development and implementing HRM systems, Bruce's expertise and enthusiasm have helped organisations and individuals develop and establish keener processes and techniques in many areas including career management and development, communication, leadership and management, performance management, personal improvement and development. Bruce has conducted successful,and stimulating programs throughout Australia for thousands of individuals and managers in managing their businesses and staff, developing their careers and balancing their lives. Julie Newdick
Senior Consultant
Julie Newdick has post graduate qualifications in psychology and over 21 years experience working in organisations in both the private and public sectors. Since 1992, she has worked part-time, and at times, full-time, for a consultancy firm in human resources management and professional community and social consultation. Julie managed this business while undertaking her training in psychology. She has also been directly involved in many aspects of the work.

As a senior consultant with AuStrategies Consulting Network, Julie has managed the consulting business as well as being directly involved in many aspects of the work. Her direct relations with clients has had her conducting convergent interviewing in community and public consultation projects as well as in social impact assessment programs. Julie has been instrumental in helping a large public sector client establish regional service centres throughout Australia, which included being involved in training the new centres' staff.
Julie specialises mainly in facilitation and training and development projects as well as establishing appropriate systems for the administration of human resources performance management. She has conducted training courses on job application and interview skills, stress management, train the trainer, giving feedback and emotional intelligence. Her programs are thought-provoking, stimulating and provide participants with tips, techniques and skills in developing career and personal goals as well as ways to better manage the performance of others.
Julie has conducted training on the implementation of a new performance management system for Commonwealth Government agencies involving conducting workshops for managers, team leaders and all other staff. The workshops comprised the performance system as well as performance communication – giving and receiving feedback – skills training.
She has been involved in training managers from all over Queensland in accredited Diploma in Business programs, customised to meet organisational needs and requirements. Besides up-front delivery, Julie has also managed the assessment for the managers' qualifications.

Dr Rea Dennis combines her experience as a teacher, researcher, writer and theatre performer in her roles as an Organisational Development Consultant. Dr Lawrence Sim
Senior Asssociate Consultant
Lawrence Sim has around 30 years experience in the health sector and hospitals in a wide variety of roles. Initially trained as a Teacher and then a Medical Physicist, he has worked as High School Teacher, Cardiac Investigations Scientist, Hospital Physicist (Diagnostic), Director of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, Change Management Officer, Project Manager and PACS Support Manager. These experiences complemented his academic training to establish expert competencies in equipment and technology planning, procurement and management, to support clinical services provision. Lawrie has published and presented internationally, with 21 refereed journal and proceedings articles, 25 abstracts and numerous internal publications. His other specialised training includes QH Level II and III purchasing accreditation, ACHSE programs in financial management, quality assurance assessment and management development workshops. He is accredited for design and inspection of premises where medical radiation practices are performed. Lawrie was founding partner of Queensland Radiation Advisory Services, 1991, later incorporated as Wrenco Pty Ltd and continues to trade in Radiation Protection consultancy, and Medical technology advice to hospital development projects. Fifteen years have been in leading edge change management where she worked in organisational and human resources development in state government departments and a large city council.
